Author & Technologist

This assignment for Web Development I asked for the design and development of a personal web site. The requirements were to create a Home page, Interest page, Reflections page, Resume page, and a Guestbook page. It was left up to the students to decide on the graphics and layout. Since this is a "personal" web site, I decided to give it a very personal touch with a set of hand-drawn controls. This was a fun exercise and I enjoyed getting into the roots of HTML and CSS. I used Microsoft's Visual Code as my editor and GitHub Desktop for the repository. (Click on the image to go to the site.)

Full-stack Web Developer

Even though I've been a software developer for over 30 years and I know the basics of HTML, CSS, and Javascript - I've decided to get myself up to speed with current technologies in web design and development. I recently completed my first semester at Edmonds Community College to get my Web Developer Certificate. My first semester courses were Intro to Algebra, Intro to Programming, and Web Development I. I'm happy to say that I completed this quarter with a 4.0 grade average.

I will continue to post some of my web development work here as I build my portfolio. This website can not be an example of my development skills since I've used a specialized User Interface tool from website.com for the design, layout, and content. However, via the below links, I'll describe my progress and post the sites I'm developing as part of my certificate course. Feel free to send me your comments and thank you for viewing.

As part of Web Development I, we were tasked with building a personal web site from scratch, using only HTML and CSS. As part of the assignment, we were required to post our source on github. So, here is the source code for my EDCC Personal Web Site. (Click on the image to go to the site.) I describe the site in the following post.
